The Journey of 1,000 Miles Begins with a Single Step

The past June, members of the DevYoga community decided to engage in a challenge inspiring them to get off their couches amidst the COVID pandemic - walk 12 million steps. We the members of Dev Yoga Team want to thank Devji for his continued guidance and tireless service to ensure that we practice good health habits and develop our true potential. Some individual experiences from members highlighted below:

I had the privilege to participate in Dev Yoga’s 12 Million Step Challenge which ended on June 28.

Dev ji announced his goal of 5 Million Steps in 14 Days and needed 25 volunteers for this. I definitely wanted to be a part of this goal towards a bigger cause of promoting good health and fitness.

This was a global initiative making the best use of technological advancements to enhance our endurance. A total of 65 people from all around the globe volunteered and participated for this cause. We had people from different geographies and timezones - India, Singapore, Australia and the US coming together and all walking/running for the same cause.

This required each one of us to be disciplined and focused to hit our daily goal. This challenge has not only taught us we can achieve what we set our minds to and a belief that ‘Great Things never come from Comfort Zone’ and ‘You are your only limit’. Together we walked 13 Million Steps which is 6500 miles way beyond our expectation! Along the way, I was fortunate to meet winners with stories to tell who went all the way with no excuses!

Thanks Dev Yoga Team for everything!!

This huge challenge has been attained and accomplished with the wonderful training by our Guruji Dev Ketu. We all have built in endurance, resilience and determination that keeps us going and crave all of us to perform better. The mind and body coordination, helped everyone else and me personally to keep my sanity in these difficult times of Covid-19 and long working hours.

This challenge made me come out of my comfort zone. Seeing people walk over 30,000 steps a day motivated me to do more & challenge myself. Instead of feeling tired, I felt energetic, stress free & rested every night.

This challenge has been an excellent experience challenging self to meet and exceed my daily health goals. Also this has resulted in better discipline which is going to stay with me longer.

From barely 10,000 steps to 20,000 steps, you really inspired me. I will always be your follower. Thank You Dev Bhaiya.

- Sharad Agarwal

This challenge motivated my husband to walk more everyday and get ready for his Mansarovar trip next year.

My body & mind is moulded to take this challenge and feel like taking more which I cannot on my own. Thank You Dev ji.

- Niharika

I am motivated to continue to the next challenge & really grateful for your selfless service.

I barely did 5K steps a day but with positive people around and someone to guide you testing your limits makes a huge difference.

-Govind

I was struggling to push myself to walk or run again which had temporarily stopped due to negativity of Covid. Seeing other people in this challenge pushed me and my wife to restart & pushed me to the limit.

- Hitesh

Even though I was unable to hit 15K a day, this challenge has left a profound lesson to invest time in health and wellness.I am grateful to this community of yogis who gave me a chance to participate.

I reluctantly joined the Step Challenge which required at least 20K steps a day.Looking at the big numbers, I was inspired & wanted to test my ability & endurance that Dev Yoga has helped me build. So on the 10th day of the 14th day challenge,I told myself I will attempt to do 50k steps. On that day I ran a half marathon and then walked/ran intermittently and ended up doing 56k steps which was way more than my target.

All this was possible due to the endurance ,stamina and strength that Dev Yoga has helped me build over these years. I can assure anyone that if they follow Dev Yoga regime religiously then any goal is possible
